Barcelona Vs. Manchester United ?

April 29, 2009 at 10:22 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

I know it’s still too early to call it, but I don’t see how it can go any other way, atleast not based on the playing of the two teams tuesday and wednesday. Barcelona vs. Chelsea. Nil nil, I know, but Barcelona had possession about 70% of the game, and what did Chelsea do? Well they’re Chelsea. They put 10 men in front of the goal and and one man up top. Barcelona had their chances, two amazing ones in extra time, and they spoiled a win, but what are you going to do about it. Maybe Chelsea will play differently (and better) at home next Wednesday. We all questioned Pep’s original call of sitting Puyol out and putting Marquez in, but we all learned the real insite and genius of Pep after Marquez was carried off, and Puyol earned his second yellow, mandating him to sit out the next game. Marquz won’t be back either. Who will take their places? Will it be Abidal in? Or Sylvinho? We shall have to see…

Manchester United Vs. Arsenal was a fun game to watch. Manchester United tore through Arsenal like a solar flare through Earth’s atmosphere. Rooney, who clearly has no moves, can surely brute force his way through a defense, and Ronaldo, who clearly sucks at life and shouldnt be playing, sure had some fantastic attempts on net. Arsenal had…well they were out there trying…I think. I kinda hope they weren’t actually, it would be less embarrasing.

So what do you think? Barcelona vs. Man U. ? Or a different final!

Oh and by the way? Ballack!? No yellow card on that attack on Iniesta. –Sigh– That man needs to go.

Twilight…Really…?

April 26, 2009 at 5:05 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , )

Ok, I’m a boy, I know that. But I need to know what is up with this twilight series. Would someone please fill me in on this new phenomena?! I’m a little late to the game I guess, what with there being three books out now? Maybe…So I saw the movie last night, and, I’m just going to say it now. What. Was. That. That was a terrible movie. The acting was atrocious, and it was so anti-climactic, when the movie finally did end, I just wasn’t sure. They introduce the vampire that is trying to kill the girl and like, five minutes later it’s dead. Really…? Terrible.

However, it does make me want to read the book now. That’s not weird is it? It’s not like I’m going out and buying them. I do have female siblings that own it, so there! Don’t think any less of me for wants to read this book…I probably won’t even like it…maybe. :)

World of Warcraft Coming to the iPhone?

April 26, 2009 at 1:12 pm (iPhone) (, , , , , , )

In an interesting video found on Toucharcade , it would seem that the (way to)popular RPG, World of Warcraft may make its debut onto the iPhone and iPod Touch. Is this an incredible hoax? Or could this possibly be true. If it turns out to be true, what does this mean for the quality of the world? Nerds who spend countless hours in front of there computer playing this game, who have no social life, and don’t know what a girl is, now have the ability to take their ‘minor’ obsession with them wherever they go. That to me is just a bit more than scary.

On the other hand, what a feat that would be. To bring such a massive game to such a small platform. I’m not even sure my G5 could handle that game too well. I understand it’s a different version written specifically for the iPhone, but still, that is very impressive. Check out the video over out Toucharcade and make your judgements.

Hello…

September 13, 2008 at 10:15 pm (Miscellaneous, News) (, , , , , )

So I suck at “being back.” But I do have some fun things to announce to everyone, well I think they are fun. First off, last Wednesday, the Large Hadron Collider flipped there switch and is now live, and working well. This is great news.

Also, as I have an old, barely usable iBook lying around, I decided to take it apart; something I have been meaning to do for quite some time. Using a guide I found at iFixit, I was able to, with some difficulty, get about halfway through taking the machine apart. A bit dissapointed, however, I took some pictures to share with everyone.

Hope this is as exciting for you as it was for me.

I’m Back!

September 1, 2008 at 8:55 pm (Miscellaneous)

So as I am sure many of you have noticed, there has not been anything new on this blog in quite some time. Well, hopefully that will all change quite shortly. Unfortunately I have been quite busy with summer work for school, as most people are, I am a procrastinator. When not doing that, I was busy geocaching. For those of you who don’t know what that is; it’s a scavenger hunt like sport where one uses coordinates that they put in their GPS to find hidden things. It is quite fun, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for some outdoor activity. With school starting, I should have lots of time to post on here (yeah that doesn’t make much sense, but hopefully it is true). Sorry everyone, new stuff shortly, maybe some more information on Geocaching.

Real Harry Potter Invisibility Cloak

August 12, 2008 at 5:56 pm (News) (, , , , , , , , , , )

Admit it, you have always wanted to be able to go invisible at will (for jokes and the such of course). After reading Harry Potter books and learning other, more mischievous things you can do with them, you wanted one more. Well for those of you who thought these “magical” “cloaking devices” [hehe] would never come to fruition, be prepared for this next statement.

You prepared? Good!

For the first time, scientists have been able to cloak three dimensional objects. The eye perceives ’things’ because reflecting light from the material is observed by the eye. Using meta-material, which are mixtures of metal and circuit board materials, scientists are able to deflect light around the cloak, essentially how Invisible Woman does it. Think of it like air being cut by a car, the air goes around the automobile. While the use of these cloaks would be for military purposes at this time; so was the Internet and GPS. Just give it some time.

Perseid Meteor Shower

August 12, 2008 at 2:50 pm (News) (, , , , , , , , , , )

Who was up last night (this morning) watching the meteor shower? Last night was the start of one of the most predictable meteor showers; the Perseid Meteor Shower. Although the rate has slowly been declining, you can average seeing about 30 meteors sweeping across the sky like a finger rippling on a lake (what do you think, not a bad simile right…right?), an hour. Now, the time with the most activity will be 11GMT today. However, for those of us on the east coast, that puts us at 19:00 (7pm), leaving us in complete sunlight. That will not work out too well. Hope for clear skies and go out tonight around 3am or 4am (if possible, those of you who work). Even if you go out around 12am, you should see a good amount of activity. Try out some star gazing too while your out there. For those interested in star gazing and have an iPhone, try out this application called Starmap. It is worth every penny if you are interested in such an activity, and it will only get better with time. That’s all for now, I have been busy with work lately, so have had very little time to post here. I’ll be back, I promise.

Vista’s View No Longer Promising?

August 9, 2008 at 2:28 am (News) (, , , , , , , , )

According to Gizmodo, all of Vista’s “security features” are all for nothing based on a new find at this years Black Hat. Black Hat is, ” The World’s Premier Technical Security Conference.” It seems that all of the Vista’s security can be bypassed by using JAVA and .NET which will execute a malicious code. This can be done through any browser. I know what you are thinking, “Well it’s only a matter of time before they can patch this flaw.” If only it was that simple.

It seems that this is not just a flaw in Vista’s security, but this “little” hole is apart of Vista’s architecture. So long Vista. Microsoft; It’s time you start working on Mojave.

Barcelona Game

August 6, 2008 at 12:06 am (Miscellaneous, Sports) (, , , , , , , )

Today is the big day, for after all, it is 12:01. In just 12 hours I will be off for New York to see Barcelona and, my favorite, Lionel Messi, play at the Giants stadium (OK so technically it’s New Jersey). I don’t know how many readers are soccer fans but I will be keep a (hopefully) up to date (fairly…) briefing of the game to the best of my abilities, which might not even be possible, but if you were big enough fans, you’d be watching it or finding the score on an official sports sight, or you can just read it here :) . Just tune in for the game, which I am not even sure when it starts. I will post that up here too when I find out. Just a heads up.

Well I’ve been in New Jersey all day. Got some bowling in, and a blizzard. Yum. Game starts at 7. Row 13. Sorry for the delay. I just got the wordpress app. working. I’m arriving at the stadium now. Can’t wait.

I’m in!! Pictures later. This really is amazing. Teams are leaving the field after some warm up.

Well the updates aren’t coming like I would have hoped but it’s half time now and wow. What a game. It is 4-1 Barcelona at half time, and they are destroying the Red Bulls. Sitting in Barcelona’s side, and they will be attacking away from us next half. What a great first half. That’s all for now. I’ll update on the, what will probably be, a very long ride home. =]

Game over. 6-2 Barcelona. Brilliant game. I can’t believe you weren’t there. Pictures to come later. Thanks for staying with me on this. More tech stories to come later.

iPhone 2.0.1 Released (Updated)

August 4, 2008 at 11:55 pm (News, Reviews) (, , , , , , )

Finally, an update to the very buggy (and yet somehow, still, sensuous) firmware. It’s main thing seems to be bug fixes, and I plan to see how stable this new build is. Right now, the firmware is downloading onto my Phone as we speak. I will post back here with an update after I have tested it out and played around with it.

Update: Alright, so after being able to spend some time with the new 2.0.1 update I must say, I am quite happy. First thing you will notice with this update is that backups no longer take hours. I backed up my 8GB phone with about 30 3rd party apps in about a minute or two. Very happy by this. Next thing, I find that the the phone is much more stable, less laggy, and overall very much like before the bugginess of the 2.0 firmware. I even seem to be getting better coverage in my house, although I am not sure if this is coincidence or not. Overall, anyone running 2.0 firmware virginized should definitely update as soon as they can.
